1. Fertility Clinic - The old Ferrar-Port Silva Hospital, now operated by Dr. James Ferrar, son of the original doctor-owner. Some Port Silva citizens feel that the hospital's present function is immoral.
2. Armino's - Family-owned coffee shop, also in CHILDREN'S GAMES.
3. Headlands Park - Site of the library, the post office, and the exhibit hall. Meg meets trouble here.
4. Police Station and High School - Sites visited in most of the Port Silva novels.
5. Good Samaritan - Currently Port Silva's only general hospital and morgue.
6. Pelican Point - High coastal bluff dropping sharply off to the Pacific Ocean and rocky protuberances called sea stacks that menace boats or surfers; body discovered here.
7. Silveiras' Emporium - Food and general merchandise store founded and still run by one of Port Silva's oldest Portuguese families.
8. Winner's Circle - Former stable, now a motel inhabited largely by Hispanic immigrants.
9. The wharf area within Pomo Harbor - Leading to the mainly fishing-boat marina; home to several shops and restaurants, principally The Dock. Seen also in GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE.
10. Hungry Wheels - Trucker's café and hangout, seen also in CHILDREN'S GAMES.
11. Finn Park - Once a Finnish commune, now an area of small residences. Charlotte Birdsong and her son, Petey, live here. (GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE)
